A Motherly Role      A reoccurring subject in Amy Tan’s books is mother-girl connections. In every one of her three books she speaks to various jobs of the mother and the impacts of each; The Joy Luck Club delineates moms living through girls, The Kitchen God’s Wife depicts mother showing little girl through past experience, lastly The Hundred Secret Senses shows non-presence of the mother in the relationship.      This passage from The Joy Luck Club shows what sorts of things, from genuine achievements to the wild highlights of nature.      â€Å"Auntie Lin and my mom were both closest companions and most outstanding adversaries who spent a lifetime  â â â â comparing their youngsters. I was one month more seasoned than Waverly Jong, Auntie Lin’s valued  â â â â daughter. From the time we were babies, our moms thought about the wrinkles in our midsection  â â â â buttons, how shapely our ear cartilage were, the manner by which quick we recuperated after we scratched our knees,  â â â â how thick and dull our hair was, what number of shoes we wore out in one year, and later,  â â â â how brilliant Waverly was at playing chess, what number of trophies she had won a month ago,  â â â â how numerous refers to she had visited† (27).      Jing-Mei, the piano player in The Joy Luck Club, felt the most weight from her mom, since her mom needed to follow behind the expression of the wonder around. ‘â€Å"Of course you can be a wonder, too ’† Jing-Mei’s mother, Suyuan, advises her subsequent to getting the updates on Waverly, the chess wonder (141).
